The sponsorship for secondary students is $55 per month. This will cover the cost of all school expenses including full room and board. Boarding school is extremely common in Tanzania, particularly in more rural areas like Gorfan, and greatly improves student success rates. Students are provided with all meals, clothes, school supplies, and a crucial support system where study is encouraged and students are safe. Students who do not board face long, often dangerous, walks to and from school, lack of electricity and other resources at home, and are at a much higher risk of dropping out of school to begin casual labor or marry.
