At Lone Star Love for Tanzania, we’re reaching out to our community to help us raise $3,000 for a young man named Joseph who urgently needs life-saving surgery.

Joseph’s Story

Joseph is a brave young man who has been struggling with a painful and debilitating condition for too long. He suffers from spinal tuberculosis, which has led to a condition called water on the spine. This rare and serious complication is causing him immense pain and puts him at risk of paralysis—or even death—without immediate surgical intervention.

A Family Facing Hardship

Joseph’s family has faced more challenges than any family should bear. His father left, abandoning the family during difficult times. His mother works tirelessly to provide for Joseph and his siblings, but poverty limits her options. She cannot afford the costs associated with his surgery, travel, and post-operative care. Despite her struggles, she remains committed to supporting her son as best as she can.

The $3,000 we are aiming to raise will cover:

• The medical expenses for Joseph’s operation

• Transportation costs for Joseph, his mother, and Martha, a compassionate advocate and translator who will accompany them to ensure they understand every step of the medical process and receive proper care.

Martha’s role as a translator and advocate is essential. Medical appointments and hospital visits can be overwhelming, and with Martha by their side, Joseph and his mother will have someone who speaks their language and can help them navigate this challenging journey.
